There's something that I just have to address. I see it again and again, it's so culturally engrained and it's so destructive (and changeable).
Expecting ourselves to be inexhaustible, unstoppable, emotionally constant, endlessly on fire.
Hard truth (for us all): You are not a perfect robot.
Live the Sh*t out of Your Life
How are you living your life?
Since the car accident I had four months ago, I've been working out how to live the new version of my life.
I have this atypical concussion thing going on - it looks like me getting overstimulated living normal life out in the world and passing out a whole lot. Sunlight kills me and can't go anywhere busy or noisy. I can't drive. Everything overstimulates my system except being at home, well rested and low key.
I should be depressed but I'm not.
I'm living the shit out of my life.
What's your big project?
Happy February everyone!
It feels like the year has really begun, so I want to know, how is your big project going?
What's your big project?

Four questions to help you finish 2017 with a bang!
It's so easy to move between years without taking a moment to check-in.
So, I'm going to ask you to take that moment now.
To help you move into the New Year with confidence and clarity simply ask yourself the following four questions.

Stop looking up and start looking sideways for your next career move
Want to find your purpose? It's easier than you think.
There seems to be a certain romance about 'finding our purpose' - it’s like the mystique that comes with discovering hidden treasure, as once we find it, we feel we’ll know exactly what to do to live a holistically richer life.
After 25 years I'm proud to say that I’ve finally found it, but it wasn’t what I thought it was. So to help you find yours, here's what I've finally understood about purpose and the journey towards it.
Fertility, work and having an incredible life
It’s not only having children, but also trying to conceive them or deciding not to have them at all that can throw your working life up in the air for reappraisal.
You may feel others start to question your career, while you question your bigger purpose in life and what you really want.
This can be particularly true if family plans don’t come together the way you hoped, or how others close to you had hoped.
Today’s blog is for women who are struggling with conceiving and/or carrying a baby, those who decide parenthood isn’t for them and everyone else who would like to support them.

What to do when you don't want your calling.
Does this feel familiar to you?
You get quiet, listen to nudges and start getting the sinking feeling that what you are being called to do (whether you see this as in internal longing or part of something bigger) is not what you want.
It sucks but it happens quite a lot.
It happens to me semi-regularly.

What to do when you don't know what to say about gender, 'race' and other big issues.
Here's my imperfect take on how to be a force for progress and fairness in these crazy times, even when it feels scary.
It feels like a lot of horrors are coming to the surface right now in the world.
It brings up our own experiences, fears and sorrows.
We can feel powerless, hopeless and overwhelmed.
Then if the horrors don't directly impact us, we can go back to our usual lives.
That's because horrors aren't evenly spread across our world or our country.
It depends on our location, the colour of our skin, our religion, our sexuality, our gender, our incomes and so on.
But it occurred to me that despite how sad and infuriating and bloody awful things can be there is plenty of work we can do that is simple and influential. Political activity is always part of this but this blog focuses on what you can do everyday that will become simple, powerful and useful in creating positive change.

One facet of mental health you must know about.
It's mental health week and Lord knows it is a complex subject. There are so many reasons that we may experience anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar and other mental health problems.
I've become increasingly open about my own struggles with mental health problems, particularly anxiety.
I am an expert on anxiety!
I'm so grateful for the professionals and loved ones who have supported me work through the worst of it so that I am mostly very content and well today (and I know how to get back on kilter when I wobble).
Trust me when I say we can't afford to ignore our mental health.
Thankfully there is simple wisdom that we can all apply to make our mental landscape a million times better!
